Monmouth University's own WMCX 88.9 has been nominated for an Asbury Music Award in Top Internet Radio Station! The 15th annual AMA will be held at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ on Saturday, November 17, 2007.

MONMOUTH UNIVERSITY A WINNER AT NBS CONVENTION

Monmouth University's chapter of the National Broadcasting Society made thier way to Bloomsburg University this past weekend for the Annual Regional Convention. The National Broadcasting Society goes beyond the classroom to prepare college students and entry-level professionals for careers in the electronic media.

Monmouth University swept the convention finishing 1st place 11 times, also recieving 6 Honorable mentions in both audio and video submissions. For the complete results, visit www.nbs1.org.

SPANISH RADIO PROGRAM DEBUTS ON WMCX-FM
WMCX 88.9 FM, Monmouth University’s student run, non-commercial radio station, will air its first weekly show in Spanish starting on Tuesday, November 13. The premier show will have a special airtime from 8:30 to 10 a.m.

A part of the Department of Foreign Language Studies, the program will feature music, news, and cultural information as well as interviews with prominent members of the Hispanic community. Monmouth University President Paul Gaffney II, Dean of School of Humanities and Social Sciences Stan Green, and Chair of the Department of Communication Don Swanson will be guests on the inaugural show, which will be broadcast in Spanish and English.
